[/PTab][PTab=Threads]
In City of Masks, there exist three kinds of threads: Groups, Singles and the one time Awakenings. Each gives you a different amount of experience, as noted below:
Groups:
Singles:
Awakenings:
Threads are graded on quality and length. Short threads with awesome quality, or long threads with lesser quality may score the same, but short, low quality threads generally give off badly. When done with a thread, post a link to it in the Modifications & Updates Forum so you can be evaluated.

[PTab=Stats]
In City of Masks, each character has a number of stats to define their strengths and weaknesses in combat. These are listed below, with a short description of what they do. The first two, HP and SP, are special in that they cannot be manipulated directly, but require levels and points in other stats.
HP (Health Points):
SP (Spirit Points):
Strength:
Magic:
Endurance:
Agility:
Every Stat begins at 1, with each level giving the character a number of EXP to place as they see fit.
[/PTab]
[PTab=Leveling up]
Each character starts at Level 1, with all minor stats at 1, but with 5 points to spread out as they want. A character cannot go higher than level 99. They gain levels through earning experience from posting, as explained under the "Threads" tab. The number of experience needed to level up is always equal to your next level +3. So for instance, to get from level 1 to 2, you need 5 EXP, and from level 64 to 65 you need 68 EXP.
Each level awards you with a total of 5 stat points that you can place as you wish. You also receive 2 AP, used to buy skills at any time.
[/PTab]
[PTab=Skills]
Skills, both physical and mystical, make up the Persona's arsenal. As you level up, you receive 5 AP which can be saved or spent as you wish to buy new skills or upgrade existing ones. You always have to go from weakest to strongest with related skills, such as the Agi line. Using this as an example, you need to buy Agi first, then follow this route if you wish to upgrade the skill: Agi ---> Agilao ---> Agidyne. A special rule concerning Ma- skills exist, in that you need to have at least the base form to buy a Ma- skill, but it is not replaced. Using the example from before, you need Agi or any of it's upgrades to get Maragi, which can then be upgraded on its own.
Some skills require specific levels. Check with the individual skill to make sure you're high enough level to learn the skill. At character creation, you may choose up to 3 skills, or a lesser number of skills up to the cost of 15.

[PTab=Social Links]
Socials links are an essential part of Persona, and so they of course come with a system on this site. Whenever you do a thread with one or more people, the EXP you gain is also placed into your Social Link with this person. Every few threads, the Social Link will rise in level, to a maximum of 10, in which it is Maxed out. Whether this means you are best friends or the worst enemies doesn't matter, what matters is that you have formed an unbreakable bond, for better or worse, with a person. Every time you max out a Social Link, you will receive a bonus determined by the number of Social Links you have. Usually this will be a simple 2 stat points, but other things are gained on the side at certain levels.
3 Social Links MAXED: + 5 AP
5 Social Links MAXED: + Upgrade a Resistance or remove a Weakness.
7 Social Links MAXED: + 5 AP
10 Social Links MAXED: + Upgrade a Resistance or remove a Weakness.
+2 Social Links MAXED: + 5 AP
The Link EXP needed for each level is equal to new level x 2.
[/PTab]
[PTab=Resistances & Weaknesses]
Resistances and Weaknesses help show what your character's Persona is exceptionally good or bad against. Every character starts with two Resists and two Weaknesses. Weaknesses can be removed and Resistances upgraded to Blocks or Absorbs, in that order when certain amounts of Social Links have been MAXED.

- Don't act like a mod - helping other players is encouraged, but you are not allowed to hold any authority over other members.
- No racist, sexist, homophobic, or other derogatory slurs will be tolerated.
- No Porn - Posting any 18+ material, visual or otherwise, will result in instant banning of your account. If you are unsure as to whether or not a picture you would like for your character is appropriate, ask a mod.
- No posting about animal abuse, child abuse, or any other seriously sick thoughts.
- Never ask for stuff that needs to be deserved - that only makes your chances smaller.
- Have fun! ^-^
[/PTab][PTab=Character Rules]
- No powergaming; this involves controlling another's character, as well as playing your character beyond their ability. If you are unsure wither or not an action counts as powergaming, ask a mod.
- No metagaming; this means your character should not magically have knowledge of things, just because you have it.
- When posting in threads with other people, please be patient and wait for others to post instead of rushing ahead. In threads of 2-3, it is socially acceptable to skip a persons "turn" when they haven't posted for at least 3 days, unless agreed otherwise with the players themselves. In groups of 4+, the order can be more mixed, but we'd like to see that a person waits for at least 2 posts to be done before he posts again, if not agreed otherwise.
[li]If your character should be so unfortunate, unlucky, or plain stupid to die, your character will be lost. - Characters may only be at one place on the city map at once.
- No references to the games are to be made, nor can your character be connected to any game characters
- World/Aeon/Universe Arcana is off limits.
- Names are Japan style, so surname FIRST.
- All in-character posts should be written in third person, past tense.
- All IC posts should be a minimum of 100 words.
